Moon Knight #6 Review
I got into Moon Knight about a month ago and got the first five issues, and didn't want to read #6 until I read 4 and 5 last night as well but I really like Jeff Lemire's Moon Knight series. Lemire is my favorite writer so far. I really like Black Hammer, Trillium, Plutona, and Descender looks to be good too although I am waiting to get it in trade but I am glad Lemire is doing this most recent series of Moon Knight. It's definitely better then Bendis' work.
This issue is the first one of the Incarnations arc although it still very much continues with the first arc since Marc or whichever name he happens to be using is still completely lost and trying to figure out what he is supposed to be doing. I especially like the way he kept stepping into different places from one moment to the next. At one point, on the set of a movie for Moon Knight actually because he is the producer which was kind of funny, next to the inside of an Egyptian pyramid, to being a taxi driver, then ends up on the moon, and back and forth between these places and others. And his friends who had to leave him or be left behind while he continues on his journey seem to pop back up every now and again which I like. There was even a point when he gets into a fight with Moon Knight. I liked this issue more than any other so far and really like where this series is going. Another thing that I liked was that there was definitely a lot more content than previous issues. The last five barely took more than five or so minutes to read, I like a comic to not go that incredibly fast and to be able to enjoy it for more than a quick moment almost.
I also like the humor with this one, making jokes about the movie, poking fun at how Moon Knight shouldn't even be made into a movie because he is a third rate superhero, lol.

Wednesday Comics
I didn't get a chance to post yesterday but it was new comics day although it was another week with not much to get with the newest releases. I did add Moon Knight to my pull list, got some more bags and boards because I already ran out with the last batch. I liked the last issue of Plutona and wanted more and usually back issues are still on the rack but not this time. I was able to find #1 and #2 in the section of comics individually priced. I got them both for $3.25 each and they didn't have #3 or #4.
I also finished vol. 2 of Incorruptibles and didn't really like it even though I did just finish it. Not going to check out anymore of Mark Waid's stuff most likely.
I am almost done with vol. 2 of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and like it a lot.
And I've still been hanging out in the comic books section of Reddit but it's starting to be kind of a disappointment, it's pretty much just a cesspool of extremely sexist, mostly racist white dudes. Anything even remotely questioning anything blatantly sexist or racist gets downvoted, and people seem to really love racist Mel Gibson there, lol. I don't get it.
What I got:
Moon Knight #6
Kill Or Be Killed #2
Paper Girls #9
Back Issues:
Plutona #1
Plutona #2

Saturday Comics Day
Saturdays are the best day to spend with comics and being obsessed with them, lol. I went to the comic book store today, and they, New Dimension Comics has a new podcast episode up if you want to listen to it at http://ndcomics.com/podcast/ They talk about the newest comics that they are into and about the Suicide Squad movie. At the store, it was Free Graphic Novel day so I was able to pick one from the table. It was odd, really late in the day and there were still a lot of free books on the table. It's sad that more people are not going to this comic book store because it's so great. I got Incorruptible Vol. 2 by Mark Waid and Horacio Domingues.
And I got some good comics I think today.
New-ish Issues:
Tomboy #4. I've been wanting to check out this comic and finally did today.
Plutona #5. I am really getting into Jeff Lemire's work and wanted to see what this comic is about.
Dollar Bins:
Mildly Microwaved Pre-Pubescent Kung-Fu Gophers #1 The title is just hilarious and is probably a funny, loopy comic. Hopefully there is more than just one issue of this if it's good.
Doom Patrol #1 2001
Smax #4 I liked the few comics I read of Top Ten and curious about this since it's about one of the characters from that getting their own comic.
Moon Knight #1 2011
Moon Knight #2 2011
The Dreaming #54 The cover of this made me want to check it out. Creepy mouth eyes!
Promethea #15
Promethea #16
I am listening to Fatman on Batman #36 tonight where Kevin Smith is talking to Jim Lee and it is so good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_YGfp2oid8
I am also loving the book Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. Everyone should read this book, even if you are not into comic books it is so freaking intriguing and makes you look at a lot of things different.

Wednesday Comics
I went to the comic shop today even though there wasn't anything new to pick up but I was hoping to find something new among other things that I want to get. I was hoping to get Frontier #1 and thought it was possibly coming out today for some reason, lol but supposedly it doesn't come out until November?
I really liked Trillium #1 and #2 and got #3 and #4 today. I'm also really enjoying Moon Knight so I got the others as well. I would have tried to find more in the dollar bins but I had to go to the bathroom so badly from drinking too much coffee earlier, lol. And yesterday I ordered some books that I am excited about. Alan Moore's Writing For Comics Vol. 1, Understanding Comics and Making Comics by Scott McCloud. Curious to read about writing comics and what others writing on the subject have to say about it.
What I got today:
4 Kids Walk Into A Bank #1
Moon Knight #3
Moon Knight #4
Moon Knight #5
Dollar Bin:
Trillium #3
Trillium #4

New Comics Today
I haven't been posting as much here lately. Usually I write about something once a day but this week has been kind of exhausting. Also, I love the comic books section on Reddit. I spend most of my time posting on there lately. It's the best place to talk about comics, find out about anything news-wise, way better than any websites that are supposedly devoted to that kind of thing, and there are all kinds of interesting discussions going on there. I have a link on the left with comic sites if you haven't checked it out yet.
I also stopped at the comic book store today. I am starting to get the impression that they don't like me, they are definitely not that friendly to me but I get that a lot around here. When I first walked in today, I heard some weird whispering right as I walked by a couple workers which was odd. I usually keep to myself though and maybe they think I am kind of creepy. I also added a few more to my pull list, Paper Girls, Hellboy, and B.P.R.D. Last week they said if I added three more I would be able to get a 10% discount and I was planning on adding those anyway but they said this week that I need to add three more to get the discount, lol. I didn't think I needed just three more because they said you need fifteen on your pull list for the discount and before the three that I added today I only had ten on my list. I'm starting to get bad vibes from this place, lol.
With the comics that I got today, I picked up Moon Knight #2 third printing. They also still had Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1953 #1 so I got that. I was also able to find some good copies of Deadly Class, Black Science, and Trillium in the dollar bins.
From the dollar bins:
Deadly Class #1 1987
Black Science #13
Trillium #1 I've been wanting to find more sci-fi stuff and someone recommended this and it's from Jeff Lemire.
Trillium #2

Another nice day at my local comic shop. I've been reading a lot of good things about Moon Knight and wanted to check it out so I was able to get #1 of the most recent series and found a couple back issues in the dollar bins. Hopefully it's good. And supposedly I have a pull list but every week there is something not in it.
What I got today:
Wonder Woman #5 Frank Cho Variant
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #11
Tank Girl - Two Girls One Tank #4
Hellboy in Hell #10
Moon Knight #1 If I had known they were charging $5 for this I wouldn't have picked it up.
Dollar Bins:
Moon Knight #12
Moon Knight #14
